Conrad Weaver
I’ve seen much of my life looking through the viewfinder of a camera.
My passion for photography and video began at a young age using my dad’s old Argus camera and taking photos of anything and everything. Fortunately for me, the love of photography has blossomed into a career I never expected to have. While in college (a psych major) I joined the college newspaper staff as a photographer and became the darkroom editor/head photographer during my senior year.
After stints as a mental health counselor, youth pastor, and marketing manager for a publishing company, I moved to Frederick, MD in 2002 to become the media and marketing director at Frederick Christian Fellowship Church. While there I helped the church launch a video ministry that included both produced pieces used on the web and in the services, as well as a live multi-camera IMAG video production that helps enhance the worship services. We started our video production ministry with a Sony Handy-Cam camera and free software. Today the church runs up to 6 cameras during a service and uses Final Cut Pro editing suites for post-production. While working for the church I had the opportunity to produce a behind-the-scenes video at the 2004 Presidential Inauguration. This experience led me to launch my own production company in 2006.
In March of 2008 I left my position at FCF Church to run my own company full-time. Since that time I’ve produced many videos for a wide variety of companies, government agencies, and non-profit organizations, and in the fall of 2009 I became the primary cameraman for the Washington, DC bureau of PJTV.COM. I’ve had the privilege of producing videos for the National Institute of Allergies and Infectious Diseases, The Greg Maddux Foundation in Las Vegas, and many local and international companies. Recently I completed a documentary film for the Vigilant Hose Company in Emmitsburg, MD telling the story of their 125 years of volunteer service. We’re currently working to get this piece aired on local cable networks in the Maryland area.
My real passion is producing promotional and documentary videos for missionaries. I’m currently producing a documentary/promotional film for a mission school for poor children in Guatemala. This is scheduled to be released in late 2010.
In my spare time – what little there is – I enjoy snow skiing, hiking, sailing, and traveling. I live in Emmitsburg, MD with my lovely wife and two children.
