Gary Miller

Hi, my name is Gary Miller and welcome to my profile page!  Just a few things about me…I was born and raised in San Leandro, CA, the second of two children, I have one older sister.  My mom and dad are from Oklahoma and just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

I grew up loving two things, music and sports.  My love of sports comes from my dad and my love of music comes from my mom.  My dad has worked at the Oakland Coliseum for 40+ years, it was a great way to grow up, not only watching my sports hero’s, but getting to meet and know many of them. My mom’s side of the family has a rich musical heritage. My uncle is a flat picking guitar champion and my cousin plays guitar for Merle Haggard.  I remember many evenings spent in my uncle’s house singing old hymns and gospel favorites when I was but a wee little lad.

My beautiful wife and I just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary and we have two awesome children, a 10 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. Our beautiful daughter has picked up our love of music and our son is 100% boy and a sports nut like his daddy.

For the last 20 years I have either been leading a Christian band, leading worship or working in some capacity in the Gospel music industry. Currently I am a worship leader at Timberline Church www.TimberlineChurch.org in Fort Collins. CO, where I have been for 11 years now. Timberline Church has over 7,500 active members, so you can imagine its a very busy place.  My passion is leading God’s people into that intimate place of worshipping our Living God.  I believe its a place we as a congregation collectively go to, but once we’re there, we are alone with our God and Creator!

Some of my musical influences are (and in no particular order), David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Kristin Stanfill, Hillsong United, Starfield, Delirious?, Russ Taff, Newsboys, and Switchfoot.
