Songs
Walk-in
“Come As You Are” – Nirvana
This song was the title of the message that morning and was a great addition. The church loves to hear relevant songs that they can identify with. It was nice to see some of the “unchurched” and the “churched” head banging!
Main Set
“All Because” – Fee
This song was a new one for us. It was fun to play and the crowd really got into it.
“Song of Hope” – Robbie Seay Band
We have done this song before and again a really fun song to play. I just love when it says “God of Heaven come down!”
“You Are My King ( Amazing Love)” – Newsboys
An oldie but a goodie. It was wonderful to see people worshiping God for His amazing love for us.
“How He Loves” – Kim Walker
This song segued beautifully out of the previous song. At the end, our lead vocalist, Carmen, had the whole audience sing the chorus together acapella. It sent goosebumps up and down my spine.
Pastor’s Message
“All Jacked Up” – Gretchen Wilson
Pastor Bryson started a new series entitled “All Jack’d Up.” Our church had its grand opening for our new facility on Sunday and the church motto was announced; “No Perfect People Allowed.” This song was meant to portray people whose lives are all jacked up still being able to come to church and find a loving God. You don’t have to get all cleaned up to come to church; just come as you are. The song was fun to play and the crowd even started dancing. The light show really made it fun.
Offering
“We Are Broken” – Paramore
Another secular song that has a great meaning. “We are broken, what can we do to restore our innocence and oh, the promise we adored? Give us life again ’cause we just want to be whole.” A cry of the heart.
There is the set list with the walk-out song being “Come As You Are.”
